About Matthew Cooper

Born and raised in New York City.  Photography was always a passion of mine but never something I seriously focused on until my late 20's.  My interest in photography started at a young age when I began to travel. I always wanted to capture my experiences through a lens. 

I started my professional career in finance working at hedge funds and consulting firms throughout NYC for about 7 years. After I left finance, my love for photography got reignited when I began working with my wife Rocky Barnes in the fashion and travel photography space.  I started taking photography classes again and really focus on refining my skill set through practice and coaching sessions.  I am very fortunate to work with an amazing photography guru, Mark Edward Harris, who continues to be a great coach to me.

Based in Los Angeles but also spend significant time in NYC.  My real focus now is on creating stories and bringing my own experiences to life in my work.
